Around 25,000 homes in Queensland's southeast woke up lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms swept through the area, producing strong winds topping 109km/h.

Locals observed large ice chunks as large as 7 centimeters in some areas. Meteorological experts announced that various areas across the state had been impacted by substantial ice precipitation.

Rescue organizations received over five hundred requests for assistance across the area, primarily for structural issues but also for fallen timber and water accumulation.

Meteorological Predictions
Moist weather were predicted to continue along large portions of the state's eastern regions this week as a atmospheric system continued to pull in damp air against the coast.
Tomorrow was predicted as the wettest day, with persistent severe weather risk anticipated across different parts of both regions.
Health Warning
Medical authorities warned that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, particularly given the ongoing climate situation.
This warning comes after historical occurrences where comparable situations led to substantial respiratory problems in the state.
