Per new allegations from a informant, Ghislaine Maxwell, currently serving a 20-year prison term for trafficking offenses, is allegedly readying a clemency request for consideration by the presidential administration.

Special Treatment Claimed at Correctional Facility

House Democrats on the House judiciary committee revealed that a whistleblower provided evidence indicating Maxwell is working on the commutation application. They also stated she has been given preferential conditions at the federal prison camp in Texas.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the committee, declared in a news release that the prison’s warden was “helping” the convict with copying, printing, and sending documents to support her bid for clemency.

The exact content of the clemency request are unknown, the congressman noted.

Alleged Privileges and Special Accommodations

The representative claims that, per the insider, Maxwell has been receiving “customized” meals that are “personally delivered” to her cell, and the warden has individually organized private meetings for her and her visitors.

The visits reportedly involve a “special cordoned-off area” for visitors and a variety of food and drinks for her associates.

Maxwell’s visitors were also allowed to bring computers, which the congressman characterized as an exceptional measure given the security risk and chance of unsupervised contact.

Reportedly on one occasion, when communications failed for other inmates, Maxwell was provided directions about who she should tell her associates to contact and how personnel would relay the call to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The whistleblower further reportedly told congressional members that when the convict wanted to examine and modify papers promptly, she “essentially used” the official as her private aide.

The statement states that Maxwell’s correspondents would send files directly to the supervisor, who would provide them to Maxwell, who would review and edit them and return them to the official to scan and provide to the initial correspondent.

Additional Privileges Alleged

Further perks allegedly granted to her include time to “play with” a trainee assistance dog – a benefit typically prohibited – as well as private after-hours access to the prison exercise area.

Maxwell’s attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

In a statement, the White House said that it “will not discuss” on potential clemency requests.

“As President Trump has stated, granting clemency to the convict is not something he has thought about,” the representative noted.

Recent Background

Over the weekend, it was reported that she told friends and family in emails from prison that she was “much happier” at the Texas facility than her previous prison.

This past summer, she was moved from a secure facility in Tallahassee, Florida to the minimum-security camp in the state, where most inmates are incarcerated for financial and non-violent crimes.

This move, which experts described as exceptional, occurred just shortly following she was questioned about the Epstein case by the deputy attorney general, Todd Blanche, who also once acted as the President's personal lawyer.

That interview came as the Trump administration was facing mounting pressure to disclose additional files related to the ongoing probe and amid widespread conjecture around the President's own personal ties to the fallen billionaire and convicted sex offender, who was found deceased in custody in 2019 while facing trial on trafficking accusations.

Congressional Response

In the news release, the congressman also revealed that he had dispatched a communication to the President, requesting explanations about the insider's claims, and called on the president to reject the clemency appeal.

“You should not grant any type of pardon to this adjudicated and remorseless sex offender,” Raskin wrote in the letter. “The government must not offer her with personal amenities, with canine interaction, with government agents attending to her requests, or with any preferential handling or institutional privilege at all.”

Raskin requested that the official appear for a public congressional hearing to discuss the revelations and also presented several inquiries to Trump.

Raskin asked whether he had talked about a potential commutation for the convict with Blanche or others, whether he had instructed Blanche or anyone else to provide Maxwell with the move or special conditions in prison, and whether she, her lawyers, relatives or representatives have made any promises to Trump or his attorneys.

The representative requested for a response to the inquiries by the specified date.

Last month, the US supreme court declined to hear an petition from Maxwell on her trafficking verdict.
