“That was regrettable. It was essentially an exchange with our fans out in front of us,” Jones stated during a radio appearance. “There was a large group of Dallas supporters—not Jets fans, Cowboys fans. The entire stadium was brimming with enthusiasm for the Cowboys.”
He further clarified that the signal was completely unintentional, happening amid the excitement following the team’s last score. “I just showed the incorrect finger,” he remarked. “It was accidentally done. I’m not kidding. Should you call it accidental, you can. However, it got resolved rapidly.”

This incident isn’t the initial instance an league proprietor has been penalized for misconduct. Recent examples involve:
