An extensive extended cruise through the Australian Coast is being halted days after the tragic passing of an elderly female passenger who was abandoned by the cruise liner on a distant tropical isle.

The elderly woman had been walking on the remote island with shipmates from the vessel, but separated from the party for a pause. The vessel sailed away leaving her and returned several hours later after the ship staff discovered the lady was missing.

A major hunt located her remains the following day.

Officials are examining the event, in coordination with police and the medical examiner.

Head of the voyage organizer stated that guests and staff on the vessel were informed that the continuation of the voyage had been cancelled due to the "tragic passing and earlier engine troubles".

In a statement, he further stated that travelers would be given a complete reimbursement, and said the operator was working "to arrange the travel back of the travelers via chartered flights".

Officials also issued an revised announcement, and said they had "delivered a notice to the Commander" prohibiting any further travelers from getting on the ship.

The representative said that they would attend the ship in the Australian city upon its return.

"Based on limited facts we have been informed, it seems that there was a failure of responsibility and common sense," she mentioned.

She further stated that she wished the investigation would be able to determine what "the company should have undertaken that might have preserved Her being".
